Stef - for more formal longer podcasts, I prefer Camtasia Studio (www.techsmith.com), for impromptu screencasts, I have used www.screenr.com (allows 5 minutes and it records online), there is also the brilliant online www.screencast-o-matic.com (really great! and allows 15 minutes). For lecture capturing on campus, Camtasia Relay is also a good option.
Yes, one can embedd YouTube videos in the HTML of Webstudies (both the old and the new).
